2012 Resolutions

New Year's Resolutions
2010-2011 wasn't the most successful year in terms of my reductionista goals! Click here to read my new resolutions for 2012.

Eyeliner/Shadow/Lippie Ban
  • No new lippies until I've completely finished at least five. Unless you see five lipsticks, glosses or stains pass through my empties posts, I am not allowed to purchase a new lippie. Lip balms don't count. (1 finished; 4 more to go!)
  • No new eye shadows until I hit pan on at least one shade.
  • No new eyeliners until I've either finished one completely or somehow gotten rid of at least half of my stash.

Limited Buy Plan
  • I can buy only THREE beauty products per month, from February 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.
  • There is no price cap on the products but it must be three items max, not three purchases.
  • Pre-packaged/boxed sets will count as one item. Possibly the biggest loophole in this set of rules, but I can't think of any other way to deal with sets.
  • Each nail polish bottle, if not in a boxed set, will count as one full item, no matter the size.
  • Travel-size and mini-size items count as one full product each, unless housed in packaged sets.
  • Gifts do not count. (My birthday is in March, wink wink.) However, using coupons or gift cards to make the purchase personally will count.
  • PR-distributed products and free samples do not count.
  • Beauty tools such as polish removers, nail files, makeup and hair brushes, Clarisonic brush heads, toothpaste, etc. do not count.
  • Essentials such as facial cleansers, shower gels, shampoos and hand lotions DO count.
  • LUSH bath bombs... count. Each bomb is one item. *sob*
  • Full size and travel size perfume bottles count but perfume samples do not count.
  • Candles and room fragrances do not count.
  • Should I purchase less than three items in a month, the remaining number shall NOT carry over in the following month. It's three or lose it.
  • Exceptions will be made for items not available in Canada during foreign travels, including the U.S. But picking up items sold in Canada while outside of Canada will count.
  • Exceptions will not be made for limited edition items. I have to choose between LEs, necessities and splurges. The point is to be choosey.
