Denise tagged me and it looks fun and I need a filler post before I post a big one on Simple Skincare, so here's me and how I deal with fall.
1. Favourite Fall Lip Colour?
I don't have a specific product but for now let's say it's NARS Pure Matte in Amsterdam. Anything red, berry or wine gets my heart pumping when the temperature drops.
Potential contender: YSL Pur Rouge Couture in 1 Le Rouge*
*Provided by Loose Button/Luxe Box
2. Favourite Fall Nail Polish?
Like Denise, I find it difficult to choose from my equally beloved babies! For this year, they are Dior Poison (which I ended up liking more than Orchid -- and check out Xiao's excellent hand modeling featuring Poison), Chanel Rouge Noir, OPI Oktoberfest and Rescue Beauty Lounge Piu Mosso. YES, ALL DARK PURPLES AND REDS. One track mind!
3. Favourite Starbucks Fall Drink?
None, actually. I only drink regular coffee and the odd misto from Starbucks. I don't like their mixed drinks unless I add ten thousand additional shots of espresso which will bankrupt me before 11am.
But as you know, my favourite fall drink is Pumpkin Spice Latte from Second Cup, even though I hate their regular coffee.
4. Favourite Fall Candle?
I found it but I have yet to buy it! I tried to be creative and sought out candles beyond Bath & Body Works, which blew up in my face. I returned to B&BW and reluctantly fell in love with the French Baguette candle. It smells like toasty sweet bread. And I rarely say this, but during the next blowout promotion, I'm going to haul maybe 4-8 of them, depending on how many I'm able to carry that day.
5. Favourite Fall Scarf or Accessory?
Funny, I just tweeted this today. One year I went crazy and bought three cashmere scarves from Club Monaco. The one in this grainy Instagram shot is lavender. The others are plain black and a dark grey striped with subtle shimmers. The grey one is slightly scratchy and I wish I had picked up the soft light grey one that looks like a warm fog instead. Now Club Monaco thinks that it's designer or something and I cannot afford a single piece of item at regular price there. I think those multiple cashmere goods buying days are over. Anyway, the black one gets the most wear due to versatility. For winter, I want the biggest and brightest and chunkiest red scarf in the world.
6. Favourite Halloween Movie?
I don't do Halloween really and I don't like horror movies. Still, I wanted to answer this question and looked up a list of some classic Halloween movies and the only two I watched from this list are Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, The Sixth Sense and Scream. I'll go with... GHOSTBUSTERS!
7. Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride, or Haunted Corn Maze?
Haunted hay ride?? Didn't know there was such a thing. I'm going with the corn maze, because I enjoy frantically running around in mazes instead of cowering in a closet waiting for my doom.
8. Favourite Candy to eat on Halloween?
I'm not sure why I like candy corn - it's not like they taste that good. But I feel good when I see it or eat it. I grew up in Korea in the '80s where there was no Halloween and ate different kind of candies. It was all rather confusing and fascinating when I participated in the first Canadian Halloween. The candy part was always great, but I didn't get into the dressing up aspect until my 20s because my religious fanatic mother thought Halloween was the devil's holiday and we were those horrible people who used to turn off all the lights and pretend we weren't home. Anyway, I digress. The candies are what I really remember from childhood Halloweens because that was all that I was really allowed to enjoy.
9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
A horse to my sister's bayonet and my brother's binder. (So many memes to choose from!)
10. Favourite thing about fall?
Aside from everything in this post? Apple-picking, PUMPKIN EVERYTHING, wearing boots and capes, being able to wear eye makeup (everything melts in the summer), stationery shopping for school, LEAVES EVERYWHERE, watching the squirrels enjoy the acorn buffet in our front yard, plaids, wearing socks again, drinking tea 99 times a day, shivering under the blanket and not being able to get out from under its warmth on cold mornings, fighting with the teenagers wearing humongous backpacks in the crowded subway... ahhh, good times.
I tag anyone who is going to leave a comment. Either write a post or answer the questions in the comment below. :-)

4-8 holy crap hahahahah, I was on the fence about that one last time I sniffed it, the slight sweetness threw me off. But I think I'll give it another try :) LOVE that scarf. Gotta do this tag the next TWW!
ReplyDeleteI had to go back three times to be sure, but I've eliminated the 1000 other candles and declare this winner. LET'S GO!
DeleteAnd yes, do the tag!!!
AHHHHHHHH you bought the French baguette candle i gave that a sniff and thought noooo if i buy this all i want to eat is bread every night! LOL
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't buy it yet but I WILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. LOL And I'm always hungry anyway, so it almost doesn't matter. ;o
DeleteERMAHGERD. AERKERNS!
ReplyDeleteI sniffed the French Baguette candle, too and WANTS!!!
Haha, that squirrel and I had a staring contest that lasted MINUTES.
DeleteWe're hauling those candles during the next promotion!
Lol, I loved everything about this post. You can only carry 4-8 candles? Pft. Hahahahaha. Just kidding. I haven't smelled that one (been making it a point to avoid BBW lately) and I think it would just make me hungry. All night.
ReplyDeleteThat last squirrel pic is evil looking.
That's 4-8 candles on top of all the other stuff I carry around - and don't judge! We're not all muay thai fighters like you. :p Why are you avoiding B&BW? I know it's horrid sometimes but I'm telling you this Baguette candle is almost better than Marshmallow Fireside.
DeleteThat squirrel is hilarious. He froze when he heard me approaching but he didn't want to let the nut go. He let me take at least three more shots of him.
Don't hurt me but, I hate fall. It looks nice pictures but in real life I'm all URGHH GET OUT OF HERE!!! Halloween is pretty awesome though.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like fall before either, but I didn't enjoy this summer so it was a welcome change. I'm dreading winter, though.
DeleteYou are the 100th person to rave about Pumpkin Spice Latte -- and I agree with you. It's soooooooooooo good!
ReplyDeleteI've been raving for months! I'm almost all pumpkin'ed out, though. :)
DeleteOooh, the YSL Pur Rouge Couture lipsticks are a DREAM to wear. :) Le Rouge is a gorgeous colour!
ReplyDeleteI switch between the Pumpkin Spice Latte and the Cinnamon Swirl Latte at Second Cup, but the Pumpkin wins by a smidge. ;) Totally agree on Second Cup being WAY better than Starbucks for mixed drinks, and Starbucks being better for their drip coffee.
For some reason, the Baguette candle smells too much like the actual food which turns me off from liking it as a candle. Is that weird? Like, I'd rather just eat a baguette than smell it? :P
You might be the only person I know that actually likes candy corn! I can't stand them, lol. It's the taste and the texture... bleeeeaaarrrgh...
Stationery shopping is one of my favourite things to do, ever. And it sucks because I rarely have a reason to shop for it anymore. :(
Ahhhhh, love fall!!! Thanks for doing the tag! :D
I haven't even tasted the Cinnamon Swirl because it's been all about the Pumpkin Spice. ;o
DeleteI don't think the Baguette is that much like real bread, actually. It's kind of the reason I like it. If I wanted the house to smell like bread, I'd bake it. This is kind of toasty but just artificial enough to make me feel like it's worth paying the price. IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
Even though I don't have a class this fall, I did still pick up a journal. :) You can do that!
WHO YOU GONNA CALL?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I just thought of something. I'm going to call you the LIPSTICK BUSTER.
DeleteGHOSTBUSTERS! I don't know why but it always brings me joy to read answers to this tag... and I haven't sniffed that candle yet, I must check it out!
ReplyDeleteI like reading everyone's answers, too! I hope you do a post. I'm enjoying your fall posts so much. :D
DeleteYou know-I've NEVER had candy corn! Never. I'm more of a chocolate kinda' girl. Chocolate or BUST. Although, I do enjoy a Skittle every once in awhile. Just one haha!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your pics and I love that you are getting into bolder lips! It's amazing how we change, hey?
Well, I like chocolate but especially more when I'm PMSing. Doesn't matter whether it's Halloween or not, haha. ;) I think it's that I like the look & memories of candy corn more than anything.
DeleteSeriously, what is happening. You bandits went nude and then I went red. NUTS.
It seems scented candles are a really big thing these days--I'll admit, I don't do candles. But a French Baquette candle?! That actually sounds pretty brilliant, though I'm not sure I need to be smelling French baquette 24/7--it would probably fuel my already-raging French baquette and brie/camembert/or-ANY-kind-of-cheese-really addiction.
ReplyDeleteI never used to either but now it's completely addictive!
DeleteAnd you really are my other half because I LOOOOOVVEE breads & cheeses. Sometimes I eat a block of cheese as a meal. LOL The Baguette candle isn't exactly like bread though - just simulates a really good toasty *feel* without inducing hunger and carb rage. :)
Hahaha--YES! We are SOOOOOO meant to be!!! :D We'll have such a happy life together sharing makeup and eating cheese!! I LOVE cheese. Dude--if you can find it, you HAVE to try Drunken Goat cheese. It's seriously one of the BEST cheese I've EVER eaten! My brother bought some for me recently and I almost died I was so happy!!!
DeleteThe vision of us sitting around eating cheese while playing with makeup is so beautiful I have TEARS in my eyes! ;)
DeleteI *think* that I've seen Drunken Goat around but can't be too sure. Well, the next time I see it I'll definitely pick it up!
I've been getting into candy corn the last couple of years - and we don't even really do Halloween in a big way! I love the idea of a sweet bread scented candle although I'd be afraid of it making me hungry! Not that it takes much to do that, lol!!!
ReplyDeleteCandy corn is easy to eat but not tempting to overeat, which makes it a very safe snack compared to some more addicting things. I'll report back on the candles once I've actually purchased and burned them. :)
